International freight delays at the border are almost always a paperwork problem — incorrect tariff classifications, missing certificates of origin, or incomplete commercial invoices that trigger secondary examination. Stoneaswift employs two in-house trade compliance specialists who review every shipment's documentation package before it reaches customs. We work with licensed customs brokers at Halifax, Vancouver, and Toronto Pearson for ocean and air consolidations, and we maintain standing accounts at both CBSA and U.S. CBP ports of entry for clients shipping into or transiting the United States. Air freight ETAs are confirmed within 24 hours of booking; ocean LCL cargo moves on weekly vessel departures from Montréal's port.

Less-than-container-load (LCL) consolidations depart weekly from the Port of Montréal. Full-container-load (FCL) bookings are arranged through our carrier partnerships at market-competitive rates with confirmed vessel allocation.

Stoneaswift does not hold a Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC) licence for all trade lanes — certain origin countries require us to work through local agent partners, which may extend documentation lead times by one to three business days. We do not currently offer import brokerage for controlled goods (firearms, certain chemicals, dual-use technology) — clients with those commodity types should engage a specialist licensed broker. Quoted transit times for ocean freight assume normal port congestion levels; extended delays at destination ports due to labour disputes or vessel scheduling changes are outside our control. All international quotes are valid for five business days from issue.
