Last-Mile Delivery
Stoneaswift last-mile service covers greater Montréal and the St. Lawrence Valley with dynamic route optimisation and confirmed time-window delivery.

A planned route is only as good as the software updating it in real time.
Stoneaswift's last-mile operation uses a dynamic routing engine that recalculates driver routes every 20 minutes based on current traffic data, confirmed access restrictions, and real-time delivery status updates from drivers in the field. Each delivery is associated with a recipient notification — an automated SMS and email sent two hours before the confirmed window. If a delivery cannot be completed because the recipient is unavailable, the driver logs a structured exception and the dispatcher contacts the client within 30 minutes to arrange redelivery or a secure drop. Proof of delivery is captured digitally via the driver app, including a timestamped photograph and signature where required, and is available in the client portal within 10 minutes of completion.
Operational details that distinguish scheduled delivery from ordinary courier drop-off.
Routes recalculate every 20 minutes. Traffic, road closures, and customer time-window preferences are weighted simultaneously. Average route efficiency improvement versus static planning: 18% fewer kilometres per delivery day.
Recipients receive an automated SMS and email two hours before their confirmed delivery window. A second notification is sent when the driver is four stops away, narrowing the window to approximately 20 minutes.
Every delivery is closed with a timestamped photograph and electronic signature captured in the driver app. Proof of delivery records are stored for 24 months and are downloadable from the client portal at any time.
Failed delivery attempts are logged with a reason code and escalated to the client dispatch contact within 30 minutes. A redelivery or secure-drop arrangement is confirmed before the driver ends the shift.
We run roughly 200 last-mile deliveries per week across greater Montréal for our subscription box clients. Before Stoneaswift, our failed-delivery rate was around 9%. Eight weeks after switching, it was down to 2.3%. The pre-delivery notifications made the biggest difference — customers actually answer their doors.

Last-mile delivery has geographic and volume limits — here is where they sit.
Stoneaswift last-mile service currently covers the Island of Montréal, Laval, Longueuil, the South Shore municipalities to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, and the North Shore to Mirabel. Delivery beyond these boundaries can be arranged on a case-by-case basis with a lead time of five business days for route integration. Maximum per-delivery weight is 150 kg per consignment; oversized items requiring a tail-lift vehicle must be confirmed at booking with a minimum 48-hour lead time. We do not currently offer white-glove installation or room-of-choice services — deliveries are to the building entrance or ground-floor receiving area. Scheduled delivery volumes above 350 stops per day require a minimum two-week advance notice for capacity planning.
We will confirm service availability and provide a per-stop rate within four business hours.
